My skin routine changes according to the weather. When the mercury goes up, I switch my beauty routine to adapt to the problems weather brings about: hyperpigmentation, dark spots, sunburn, oily skin and chapped lips.
Sunblock is especially important, as most skin issues are due to sun damage. I’m particular about which one I use on my face, as some variants make me break out. Others feel too thick on the skin, they’re not convenient to use.
If you’re the same, I would suggest Cetaphil’s Sun SPF 50+ Light Gel, especially formulated for sensitive skin. It feels lightweight on the skin and doesn’t leave a film-like texture when it dries. I also like how it’s fragrance-free so there’s no odd scent that lingers on your face as the day goes by. You may also use this for your body, making your beach bag a little lighter.
Moisturizer needs to be updated for the season. The Snail White Moisture Facial Cream has been on my vanity for the past month. Though it is labeled as a cream, it feels more water-based so it doesn’t feel heavy on the face. I also like how it has a clever push dispenser that keeps the cream sanitary. It also makes sure you don’t pump out too much.
Before I apply my moisturizer, however, I use the three new products from Peter Thomas Roth’s Potent-C Collection: Power Serum, Targeted Spot Brightener and Power Eye Cream.
The star ingredient in this new launch is THD Ascorbate. This is groundbreaking, as skincare products with vitamin C usually need to be used up immediately, before they change color and lose their efficacy. THD Ascorbate is a stable vitamin C variation. Plus, it’s 50 times more powerful in improving skin’s firmness and brightness. Combined with antioxidants like vitamin E and ferulic acid, they brighten dark spots and tighten the skin. Basically it’s what you need to reverse the aging effects of the sun.
With a solid skincare base, the look of your makeup improves. This is especially true when you reach for something like the L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear Foundation. I’ve been using this for the past two weeks without reading the press kit, so I could judge it without bias. I immediately noted how it feels comfortable on the skin, allowing it to breathe. Yet, it provides medium coverage in one application, one of the best formulations for humidity.
When I read over the press information, true enough, Fresh Wear was developed with our humid tropical climate in mind. This is all because of L’Oreal’s unique oxygen technology that helps the skin stay matte but feel fresh.
With these products, your summer skin routine just might be your favorite lineup all year round.
