Last week, a lot of my plans were postponed because of rainy weather. I stayed at home, stepping out only if it’s close by, snatching the small, quiet breaks in between rain showers.
Surely such weather will prevail this rainy season. Next time it happens, it’s good to be prepared with a plan that will help you make the most of your stay indoors.
Bad weather is always an excuse to treat yourself to masks. For this, try something that adapts to your needs. If you’re into spoiling yourself via skincare, you can get the Sand and Sky Brilliant Skin Purifying Pink Clay Mask. It claims to tighten pores, moisturize your skin and clear imperfections.H
If you need some moisture, there is the GlamGlow ThirstyMud Hydrating Treatment. This mask is for those who need to moisturize the skin, while restoring and replenishing it from damage. It also calms the skin, and men can use it, too.
When the rain isn’t too hard, you can also ring for home salon services. One of my favorites is Beauty Concierge. It provides in-home nail services, along with lash lift, hair removal, and slimming treatments in Metro Manila.
It’s convenient if you can’t be bothered to leave your house for a manicure. I appreciate how it does my manicure and pedicure. Find it on Instagram (@beautyconciergeph).
Sometimes I also ring up a massage service. In Makati and Bonifacio Global City, you can call Massage by Us (0920-96RELAX). The services are good and affordable.
To complete your DIY home relaxation, don’t forget to treat your hair. Try some deep conditioning. Any hair mask you feel is best for your hair is good.
I like the Davines OI range which includes the oil I often use. It also has the Deep Conditioner—this beauty editor top pick promises that it “imparts shine and hydration without weighing hair down.” It contains roucou oil that nourishes hair with beta carotene and antioxidants.
Of course, rainy weather is also the best time to curl up with a good book. Reading helps relax the mind and refocuses it.
My last suggestion to make stormy days productive is to declutter. When you get rid of things you don’t need, or at least reorganize, it helps make your mind a little less foggy.
There are many places I like to declutter, but my favorite is always the closet. I get to plan what to wear when the sun comes out.
