Nensi Dojaka solidified her hold as the label of the moment as the winner of the LVMH Prize 2021. The recognition comes with a $300,000 check and the approval of the prize’s judges: Virgil Abloh, Jonathan Anderson, Maria Grazia Chiuri, Nicolas Ghesquière, Marc Jacobs, Kim Jones, and Stella McCartney.
Dojaka graduated from Central Saint Martins in 2019 but started her label in 2017 when she was just taking up her bachelor’s degree at the London College of Fashion.
When Bella Hadid attended the VMAs in a Dojaka AW20 piece, the “it-girl” status was reached instantly.
As to how one can describe Nensi Dojaka’s style, the Albanian designer said to Vogue, “I love female bodies, collarbones, the back. That’s why I do it. I had a dress that was selling a lot, everywhere—the little black dress that everyone had. Because we’re going out again.”
Nensi Dojaka is carried by Selfridges, MyTheresa, Luisa Via Roma, Ssense, H Lorenzo, Voo Store, Opening Ceremony, and Macondo.
