Since The Row launched in 2006, my fashion heroes list definitely included twins Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen. Their sleek, well-tailored designs are what one needs to achieve carefree chic. I also like how they have an understated approach, both in the collections and their persona to the media. They don’t create hype, they truly let the clothes speak for themselves.

So imagine how happy it is that they are coming out with an entire menswear collection. In 2016, The Row quietly started selling a few menswear pieces in their New York and Los Angeles locations, in a way to test the market. They carried some suits and a few pieces in collaboration with Oliver Peoples: cotton T-shirts, cashmere topcoats, Charvet slippers, and sunglasses. Now, they are finally going all-out with their menswear line to debut this fall.
In an interview with The Wall Street Journal, the Olsen twins said that they created the collection with the husband of the women who wears The Row in mind. For about two years, the twins also have been traveling all over the world to find the best manufacturers for their pieces. What to expect? Shirts made in France, suits from Japan, knits from Italy, and denim from the United States.
The Row also is taking a step away from today’s menswear trend of the moment: streetwear. They are staying true to their brand’s DNA which makes it all the more exciting and worth it. Paper puts it aptly: “The Row is absurdly luxurious, but also one of the rare lines where you get what you pay for; all of their pieces are soft as butter and essentially indesctructible.”
So don’t be surprised if you find me shopping in the men’s section of The Row.
