When Nicolas Ghesquière presents a collection, he weaves an entire world. It was no different from the #LVCruise 2022 show, streamed over the Louis Vuitton website and on YouTube.

The Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022 collection utilized the architectural masterpiece, Axe Majeur, to highlight the geometry of each sartorial piece. Axe Majeur is by the late artist Dani Karavan, located in Cergy-Pontoise, France.

The first look for #LVCruise 2022

On the show notes, the massive artwork is described as a “sculpture conceived like a beautiful utopia.” It matches the looks which featured bold colors and exaggerated silhouettes. There is a mix of daintiness with a shock factor. Take for example block heels adorned with ribbons paired with a “can’t-miss-me-from-miles-away ” fire red coat.

Ensembles that remind you of marching bands are purposefully done, as this is an “optimistic company.” The looks are all about the road straight ahead and enjoying freedom.

Below are selected details from the sensational collection. Once again, Ghesquière delivers what we need to dream of better days.

Louis Vuitton Cruise 2022 also featured hair by Duffy and makeup by PatMcGrath.
